Concert Review – Phantogram @ The Fox Theatre Pomona

Phantogram has arrived!

It’s been a long journey, but tonight in a form of Homecoming show at the Fox Theater Pomona Phantogram  solidified their place in music history with an amazing set of music and choreographed lighting and effects that were impressive. The band opened with the song “Voices” from their the latest record, “Nothing But Trouble”.

It’s so cool to see a band like Phantogram come so far and finally arrive at greatness which is where they are sitting pretty right now. The crowd was so jazzed and cheered them to the point of practical tears from Sarah Barthel. Early on guitarist/singer and one half of Phantogram Josh Carter tore through “Running from the Cops”, one of my favorites that he does off the first album. One of the true barn burners of the night came from the Nightlife EP’s song “Turning Into Stone”.

Beautiful vocal melodies from Sarah and Josh on that one. Also set closer “When I’m Small” got everyones attention as Phantogram pulled some serious G’s.

They hit the wall of awesomeness of music and then scaled it, hopped over, and jumped head first into the encores of “Mouthful of Diamonds” and a killer version of “Celebrating Nothing”. The funny thing was they were CELEBRATING EVERYTHING, it was pure music heaven. These guys WILL blow up soon I predict, they already are, and it couldn’t happen to cooler cats that deserve it! They are so dialed in, don’t miss them if you have the chance!
